Tournament favourite Julia Görges has reached the quarter finals of the WTA tournament in Luxembourg without any problems. The German Fed Cup player defeated the Russian Anna Blinkova in two sets.
Impressive performance by Julia Görges in Luxembourg: After the German number two had already left nothing burning against Viktoria Kuzmova at the opening match, Görges defeated the Russian Anna Blinkova 6:1 and 6:4 in the round of sixteen. In the round of eight Görges meets Donna Vekic, who defeated Fiona Ferro in three sets.
Last week in Linz, Görges gave Andrea Petkovic a high lead and lost in three sets. Against Blinkova, too, the Regensburg player seemed to lose concentration in the end, but the outsider could not use a break chance to 3:4 in the second set.
