MLB: Boston star misses game 5 against Houston

Change of plans for the Boston Red Sox! Pitching Ace Chris Sale will not start as planned game 5 of the American League Championship Series against the Houston Astros in the night to Friday. He doesn’t feel fit after his hospital stay earlier this week.

“He feels better compared to yesterday, but physically he is not yet back on his feet,” Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters on Wednesday. “So I think he would pitch game six if necessary. He feels like he’s fit for the game again. And let’s have a look.”

Sale made a few throws in the outfield of the Minute Maid Park before game 4 of the ALCS on Wednesday, but he renounced a planned bullpen session. Cora stated that Sale was still too weak and had lost weight.

But who will start game 5 now is still unclear. Cora announced that she would not make a decision in this matter until after match 4.

“We have some options,” Cora said. These are the budgeted starters David Price and Eduardo Rodriguez as well as Reliever Joe Kelly, who would then obviously act as an opener.
