ATP: Peter Gojowczyk against Stefanos Tsitsipas in Basel without a chance

Peter Gojowczyk was eliminated in the second round of the ATP World Tour 500 tournament in Basel. The Dachau native defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas from Greece smoothly in two sets.

Peter Gojowczyk (29) was eliminated in the round of 16 at the ATP tournament in Basel. The Munich player had no chance against the Greek youngster Stefanos Tsitsipas (20), who had only won his first title on the Tour on Sunday in Stockholm, with 3:6, 1:6.

Germany’s top player Alexander Zverev (Hamburg) will face the Australian underdog Alexei Popyrin on Thursday afternoon. Jan-Lennard Struff expects an incomparably trickier task afterwards: The Warsteiner will meet Grand Slam record winner and local hero Roger Federer in his second round match at the indoor tournament, which is endowed with around 2.4 million euros.
