The draw for the ATP Masters 1000 Tournament in Paris-Bércy has been made. In addition to Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are also in the tableau.
While Alexander Zverev is in the semi-finals in Basel, Dominic Thiem has to deal with the upcoming last ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Paris-Bércy. In any case, Thiem will have to deal with a Frenchman: either Gilles Simon, who tortured Roger Federer in the quarter-finals in Basel. Or with Lucas Pouille, who had failed as defending champion in Vienna in round two against Borna Coric.
Zverev, on the other hand, enjoys a walk-through like Thiem, the German number one is set in fourth position in Paris and is waiting for the winner of the match between Frances Tiafoe and a qualifier. In the quarter-finals John Isner could wait for Zverev, Thiem is on the same branch as Rafael Nadal.
Behind the first place of the world rankings was a question mark until the end, the Spaniard could meet Fernando Verdasco or Jeremy Chardy.
However, Novak Djokovic must be considered the tournament favourite: The Serb is seeded at number two, starting either against Marco Cechhinato or a qualifier. Roger Federer was also drawn – a strong serve is waiting for the Swiss in any case. Either Milos Raonic or Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
