WTA: “Petko” writes a book – and warns parents on Halloween

Andrea Petkovic is serious after a strong season finish also outside the court and has retired in her off-season to write near New York. One can be curious…!!!

Andrea Petkovic is quite a person who likes company. At the moment, however, if something is to be put on paper, too many people would only get in the way. That’s why “Petko” prefers to give a little “warning”. With a wink – of course.

“Please tell your kids not to knock on my door on Halloween. I have no sweets, just buckets of blood, tears and whisky,” wrote the 31-year-old at Instagram. Petkovic is currently in Woodstock and has fulfilled her announcement to retire to a small hut in Upstate New York for about two weeks to write a book.

The plan was a daily walk in the forest, reading for two hours and writing for four to five hours. “But I’m not sure yet if I won’t have a nervous breakdown after three days,” Petkovic joked recently on the sidelines of the WTA tournament in Linz, where she reached the semi-finals.

She fears to fail miserably, “but it will be fun. Maybe my book ends with how I fail to write a book, who knows.”

The A-levels student (1,2) from Darmstadt has already repeatedly proven her talent. For the shrill US magazine Racquet Petkovic already wrote some impressive reports and articles and belongs there to the circle of authors.

And for the Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin (SZ-Magazin) the number 64 of the world ranking list wrote until recently a multi-part column, which met with an extremely positive response not only because of its wordplay.

The book will not be a classic sportsman biography. “It’s supposed to be more about general things in life. But I will change one or the other name, write a few things down and put it in a novel. I don’t want to be permanently in the tabloid media,” Petkovic stressed.
