Novak Djokovic remains on the road to success. In the eighth-finals of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Paris-Bercy, the Serb benefited in the second set from the abandonment of his opponent Damir Dzumhur.

Djokovic, who will once again be number one in the ATP world rankings on Monday after Rafael Nadals’ cancellation, started more aggressively in comparison to the match against Joao Sousa and won the first set about 40 minutes sovereign with 6:1.

Especially from the baseline, the 31-year-old played his usual controlled and aggressive game and gave the Bosnian little chance. Dzumhur did not find a single break in the first set, but Djokovic used two of his six possibilities.

After another quick break in the second run, Dzumhur had to give up due to back problems. Djokovic will now face Marin Cilic from Croatia in the quarter-finals, who beat Grigor Dimitrov 7:6 (5) and 6:4.
