ATP: Rotterdam and New York: Stefanos Tsitsipas and John Isner give their approval

Fans of the ATP tournaments in Rotterdam (category 500) and New York (category 250) can look forward to further commitments from prominent players.

Stefanos Tsitsipas, the newcomer of the year 2018, will compete again at the ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament. The Greek played his way to 16th place in the world rankings this season and is regarded as the hottest act for the future of men’s tennis.

A few weeks ago Tsitsipas won his first tournament on the ATP tour in Stockholm and will finish the year in the top 20. In 2017, the 20-year-old celebrated one of his first successes on the professional tour when he played his way into the main field of the 500 event. This year Tsitsipas had to go through the qualification and missed the main round against Martin Klizan.

The NextGen star can expect a top-class starting field in the Netherlands. In addition to the Greek, Marin Cilic, Grigor Dimitrov and Kei Nishikori will also be competing. In addition, against other NextGen players with Nick Kyrgios and Hyeon Chung the honor.

Also for the 250 tournament in New York there is a promise, which will be pleased the domestic fans. John Isner will strike with the dark underground at the indoor tournament.

This year’s Miami winner had to accept a bitter defeat at the opening of this year’s edition of his home tournament. “We are very pleased that John (Isner, editor’s note) will join us. The spectators will see great serves and spectacular tennis. As America’s number one and top 10 player he had his best year and it’s great that he will continue this momentum on our black surface,” said Assistant Tournament Director Peter Lebedevs.

Isner is expected to join the field in New York alongside defending champions Kevin Anderson and compatriot Sam Querrey.
