NBA: Nowitzki return already in November? Carlisle is optimistic

Dirk Nowitzki could be available to the Dallas Mavericks again by the end of November. Headcoach Rick Carlisle admonishes to rest, but the fans don’t have to wait much longer.

“Carlisle was satisfied with the progress of the 40-year-old, who yesterday for the first time completed a somewhat harder training session, sprinting on the treadmill and taking a few throws with assistant coaches of Mavs.

The otherwise stoic-looking coach could not hide the joy about the return of his favourite pupil: “If he really manages to train again fully at the end of November and to stand on the court, I would be really thrilled.

Nevertheless, he did not want to let the hopes grow too far. If he had to set a date for the return, he would do it “in a few weeks rather than days”. Carlisle: “We must continue to remain calm. The most important thing is to get him fully fit again.”
