Basketball: Moscow one size too big for Bavaria

The German basketball champion Bayern Munich has lost the EuroLeague duel with title candidate ZSKA Moscow.

On the 7th matchday, the Bundesliga leader lost to the Russians 79:93 (40:56) and conceded his fourth defeat. The three-time EuroLeague winner Moscow, on the other hand, remains unbeaten in the current competition.

The Bavarians let ZSKA go in the first half and did not manage it after the side change to provide again for tension. Especially City Higgins (18 points) could hardly be stopped by the hosts. Nihad Djedovic and Derrick Williams (14 each) were the top scorers of the Bavarians.

For the champion, it’s a matter of one stroke at a time. On Sunday Munich will compete in the Bundesliga of the Mitteldeutsche BC, then the team of coach Dejan Radonjic expects Olympiakos Piraeus/Greece on Tuesday in the EuroLeague. On Thursday the game will follow at CB Gran Canaria/Spain.
