MLB: Master hero also comeback player of the year

David Price of the Boston Red Sox and Jonny Venters of the Atlanta Braves are the comeback players of the year 2018 in the American League and National League. That was a choice among the team reporters from MLB.com.

Price made 30 starts for Boston and was 16-7 with a 3.58 ERA. He also helped the Boston Red Sox to their fourth World Series triumph in this century with outstanding performances in the postseason.

Still in 2017, Price due to recurring elbow problems only came on 16 missions, five of them as Reliever and was 6-3 with a 3.38 ERA.

Venters again was 5-2 with three saves and a 3.67 ERA for the Tampa Bay Rays and Braves. Previously, the left-hander had not been active in the MLB since 2012 because he had to undergo two Tommy John Surgerys. In total, the procedure was now performed three times on his elbow.
