WTA: Belinda Bencic loves her fitness trainer

Belinda Bencic made the headlines in the past WTA season after her injury, especially with positive results. A confession about her private life, however, now provides great news off the beaten track.

So it also seems that the Swiss Belinda Bencic is doing well in her private life. After a wrist operation in 2017, the 21-year-old had to pause for about five months and cancelled nearly a dozen tournaments in the past three years due to injuries.

On rank 165 the former number seven of the world was led to the start of the season to find itself now on rank 44. In addition to her sporting success, she now also seems to have found happiness in the Swiss woman’s private world. In an interview with the look, Bencic confessed her love and relationship to her fitness trainer Martin Hromkovic. “Yes, he’s my friend,” said the 21-year-old.

The constellation and the connection to Slovakia were optimal: “Something came unexpectedly, but it is an ideal situation. When I work on fitness in Slovakia, we can be together. “As a tennis professional, relationships are so difficult.”

The fast-moving professional business on the tour is repeatedly called a “relationship killer”. For Bencic, the support of her partner is all the more important: “Martin wants the best for me in private and sport. He often travels with me, I am very grateful for his support!”

So Bencic and her partner will probably also travel together to Perth for the season opener. There she will compete alongside Roger Federer against Serena Williams and Frances Tiafoe. For the past three years, Bencic and Federer have already started the season together at the fun tournament in Australia.

In the 2018 edition, the Swiss duo won the title and won the final against Team Germany with Angelique Kerber and Alexander Zverev.
