ATP: Like Rafael Nadal once: Fabio Fognini becomes underwear model

From now on Fabio Fognini will seek his fortune in fabrics by Emporio Armani.

Andre Agassi once confessed to having superstitiously made most of his career without underpants – he had forgotten them for a match and won them.

Fabio Fognini better not be. Because the world ranking list-13. has landed a big advertising contract, with no less than the Italian fashion company of Giogio Armani.

“I am very proud to become a global brand ambassador for #EA7 and Emporio Armani underwear! I’m overjoyed to form a team with such an Italian legend,” twittered Fognini, who after his best season ever – with three titles – also took a small step towards an Italian legend.

Also his wife Flavia Pennetta, an Italian legend after her victory at the US Open 2015, will be there.

Until now, Fognini was equipped by the Hydrogen company, which stood out above all for its strikingly imprinted skulls. The 31-year-old will present his new collection for the first time at the Auckland tournament on 7 January.

Fognini is not the first underwear model in tennis in recent times: In 2015 Rafael Nadal caused a sensation with a large-scale advertising campaign for Tommy Hilfiger.
