For the German biathletes, things are not going according to plan at the World Championships 2020 in Antholz so far. Neither in the mixed relay nor in the two sprint races did the DSV athletes win a medal.

3rd Italy: 2x gold, 1x silver

Status: after 8 of 12 decisions
At the Biathlon World Championships 2019 in Östersund, Germany finished a good second place behind Norway. Germany was able to secure two World Championship titles, with Arnd Peiffer in the singles and Denise Herrmann in the pursuit. Furthermore, Germany won two silver medals (mixed relay and men’s relay) and three bronze medals (Laura Dahlmeier in sprint and pursuit and Denise Herrmann in mass start).
Thus, at the end of last year’s World Championships there were seven medals on the account of the German biathletes. Norway in first place won nine medals. With five medals, Italy finished third in the medal table.
