Knee surgery! Season out for Federer

Roger Federer will not be playing in any more tennis matches this year. The Swiss is undergoing a second operation on his right knee and will miss the rest of the season.

Federer announced this in the social media. “A few weeks ago, after a setback during my first rehabilitation, I had to have an additional rapid arthroscopic operation performed on my right knee,” explained the Grand Slam record holder, adding: “As I did in the run-up to the 2017 season, I would now like to take the time I need to play at my highest level 100% of the time.

Federer already operated in February
Federer had actually planned to return to the tour, which had been suspended until 31 July due to the coronavirus pandemic, in the summer. He plans to return to the tour in 2021. Federer had already undergone knee surgery at the beginning of February.
