MLB star: “This virus is real”

Before the restart of the MLB, the four-time all-star Freddie Freeman will also test positive for Corona. The 30-year-old is already in quarantine.

The four-time baseball all-star Freddie Freeman has tested positive for Corona.

As his club Atlanta Braves from the Major League Baseball (MLB) announced, the 30-year-old is already in quarantine and will “not return” to the team “in the foreseeable future”. Freeman had felt unwell on Saturday and complained of fever symptoms.

Two Chicago White Sox players and three other Braves professionals also tested positive just three weeks before the planned start of the season.

“This virus is real, it’s nothing to mess with,” said Atlanta coach Brian Snitker. The fact that one of the league’s top stars also tested positive will remind everyone once again “that the virus is real,” the 64-year-old added: “It shows that nobody is immune to it.

Allstar Price does not play
It was precisely because of this health risk that five-time all-star David Price also declared his renunciation of the coming season. “After careful consideration and discussion with my family and the Dodgers, I have decided that it is in the best interest of my health and the health of my family if I don’t play this season,” the 34-year-old from the Washington Nationals wrote in the social media.

On Friday the teams were allowed to start training again for the first time. The start of the season is scheduled for July 23rd. In the regular season, 60 instead of the original 162 games will be played.
