Tobias Rieder and the Calgary Flames are equalized. Despite good performances – especially in the penalty shootout – he cannot prevent the bankruptcy.
In the NHL playoffs, national team player Tobias Rieder has once again shone as the underpaying specialist, but has conceded the equaliser with the Calgary Flames.
The Canadians lost 4-5 to the Dallas Stars, and in the round of sixteen the score is 1-1. Four victories are needed to advance.
Rieder scored the interim 3-4, the second play-off goal of his career. The man from Landshut had already scored in the opening game of the qualifying round against the Winnipeg Jets (4-1) when his opponents were one man more on the ice.
“That’s hard, but we’ll continue tomorrow. That happens in the playoffs, nobody said it would be easy,” said Rieder. What is important is short-term memory: “You have to forget that and take the good with you.”
The Tampa Bay Lightning (1:3 against the Columbus Blue Jackets) and the Boston Bruins (2:3 against the Carolina Hurricanes) also had to accept the 1:1 draw. Only the Vegas Golden Knights (4:3 n.V. against the Chicago Blackhawks) made it 2-0.
