WTA: Bacsinszky must end season early

Timea Bacsinszky has to end the current season prematurely because of persistent pain in her right hand.The 28-year-old Swiss woman will undergo surgery.

What has been implied for several months is now inevitable.Timea Bacsinszky will not compete in tournaments this season because the conservative treatment of her hand injury did not bring the desired success.In the next few days, Bacsinszky told the social media that she will have a small surgical operation performed to return to the WTA tour at the beginning of 2018.

Switzerland’s number one, currently ranked 34th in the WTA ranking, contested its last match in Wimbledon at the beginning of July.Bacsinszky had reached the semi-finals of the French Open before losing her third round on London’s Church Road.
