WTA: Tatjan Maria fails in Tashkent’s last sixteen

Tatjana Maria loses at the WTA-Tournament in Tashkent in the round of 16 against Aryna Sabalenka, who will play for the Fed Cup title with Belarus in November.

Tatjana Maria (Bad Saulgau) missed the quarter-finals at the WTA tournament in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.The 30-year-old, who was seeded third, lost to Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka 3-6,5-7 in the final round of 16.Maria was the only German in the hard court tournament, which was endowed with $250,000.
