Novak Djokovic starts the new season with Andre Agassi.This is reported by the Reuters news agency, citing the media team of the former world number one from Serbia.A new fitness trainer and physiotherapist have also been appointed.
“We confirm that Agassi will remain head coach, while the Italian Marco Panichi will take over as fitness trainer and the Argentine Ulises Badio as new physiotherapist.Whoever still needs to be determined is a second coach who will complete Djokovic’s support team in 2018.”
Djokovic had fired his entire team around coach Marian Vajda after a slow start to the 2017 season.By the end of 2016, Boris Becker had already not extended his contract.Djokovic is currently suffering from an elbow injury, he hasn’t competed in a tournament since Wimbledon and will not return to the tournament until 2018 in Australia.Djokovic was most recently in Monte Carlo and Belgrade for fitness training.
“He is working hard so that he can start tennis training as soon as possible to fulfill his own expectations for a comeback in Australia in 2018,”he continued.
As it was announced a few days ago, Djokovic wants to start again either in Brisbane or at the Hopman Cup in Perth.
