Handball: Thuringian HC starts with away win in Champions League

The women’s handball players of the runner-up Thuringia HC have started successfully into the Champions League.

The team of coach Herbert Müller, who had entered the royal class in September through a qualifying tournament, won the Norwegian champion HK Larvik 31:27 (16:11).

Next opponent for the THC in Group C will be on 15.The last season’s finalist HC Vardar from Macedonia will be back in a home game on October 1.The top three teams in each of the four groups of four will reach the main round with two six-man teams.

The German champion SG BBM Bietigheim will play his opening match in Group D at Buducnost Podgorica in Montenegro later on Saturday at 7pm.
