WTA: Barbora Strycova first finalist in Linz

Barbora Strycova was the first female player to reach the final of the “Upper Austrian Open”.The Czech defeated Mikhaela Buzarnescu in two sets.

Strycova was the clear favourite for this Saturday afternoon, as number two of the tournament against Buzarnescu, who had only played her way into the main draw after qualifying. There, however, right at the beginning with Anett Kontaktit had defeated the number four in Linz and on Friday in a dramatic match Belinda Bencic from Switzerland.

In the round of the last eight, Strycova had not been harmed by the last remaining German Tatjana Maria, but the 31-year-old from Pilsen still had the Croatian Jana fat in round two.

In the finals we will now play either Magdalena Rybarikova or Viktorija Golubic from Switzerland.
