WTA:”2018 can only get better” – Radwanska after her epidemic season

Numerous injuries, illnesses and no title – Agnieszka Radwanska is glad that the tennis year 2017 is finally over.

There is hardly any other player on the WTA tour who desires the turn of the year as much as Agnieszka Radwanska. The 28-year-old Polish woman has had an epidemic season. Starting as number three in the world, the long-time top ten player has slipped to 28th place.

“I just prayed that this year is finally over and I can start again,”said the 2015 WTA Final Winner against Sport 360. After a promising start with the final in Sydney, there wasn’t much more to come, Radwanska was without victory for the first time since 2010.

“Some injuries and viral diseases have thrown me off track. It was difficult to go to the Grand Slams without proper preparation,”said the former number two in the world.

The majors’ record is correspondingly poor: the second round of Melbourne, the third round of Roland Garros and New York as well as the round of sixteen in Wimbledon are the reflection of a screwed-up season.

Radwaska wants to present herself from her best side again at the Australian Open at the latest, because “things can hardly go any worse than this year”.
