When it comes to his own family, Tom Brady can’t take a joke: The quarterback of the New England Patriots broke off his weekly interview at the WEEI Radio Show on Monday morning. A few days earlier, one of the WEEI moderators had been struggling with a heavy buck.
WEEI presenter Alex Reimer described Brady’s five-year-old daughter at the end of last week as “a little pain in the ass”, while on air he described the first part of Brady’s recently released Facebook series “Tom vs. Time”, which provides some behind-the-scenes insights into the Brady household.
That didn’t go down well with the future Hall-of-Famer, as he made it clear to the presenters:”In my eyes I’ve been doing this show for many years now and have shown you guys a lot of respect. I’ve always tried to do good work for you. It is accordingly disappointing for me to hear such a thing. Neither my daughter nor any other child deserves this.”
Co-Host Kirk Minihane apologized to Brady, but the quarterback didn’t want to continue the interview any longer and added:”I will now of course evaluate whether I want to continue this show. I don’t have much more to say this morning. I’ll talk to you maybe when else.”
On Friday, WEEI announced that Reimer had been suspended indefinitely.
