NFL: Three Eagles pros want to give up visiting the White House

The headwind from the NFL for US President Donald Trump does not stop. After the 41:33 in the Superbowl against defending champions New England Patriots, Malcolm Jenkins, Chris Long and Torrey Smith of the Philadelphia Eagles announced that they would abandon the traditional visit of the winning team to the White House.

“No, I don’t expect to participate,”Jenkins told CNN. He had already criticized Trump in the past.

“My message has been clear throughout the year: I want to see changes in our criminal justice system. I want to see that we insist on economic and educational progress in communities of dark-skinned people and low-income people,”continued the 30-year-old Safety:”And I want the relationship between our community and law enforcement to improve. That is what my colleagues and I have been pushing for two years. And we will continue to do so.”

In 2016, the now contractless quarterback Colin Kaepernick, in the service of the San Francisco 49ers, was the first NFL player to kneel down while playing the US national anthem to protest against police violence and racial discrimination in the country. Many other players followed Kaepernick’s example, and US President Trump had sharply condemned the protests. During the national anthem in front of the Super Bowl all players had confessed on Sunday.
