Olympia 2018: Biathlon: German protest rejected

The German biathletes have to settle for fourth place after losing the final sprint for bronze in the Olympic mixed relay. The German team’s protest against Italy was rejected by the racing jury.

Sprint Olympic gold medallist Arnd Peiffer felt hindered by the Italian final runner Dominik Windisch. Windisch is said to have changed lanes in the target corridor. The jury saw it differently, Italy retains bronze.

Peiffer had previously dropped back from first to fourth place after Vanessa Hinz, Laura Dahlmeier and Erik Lesser had presented.
