ATP: Alexander Zverev:”Always been on time for practice.”

Alexander Zverev has reacted with incomprehension to the testimony of former coach Juan Carlos Ferrero, but does not want to do dirty laundry.

By Florian Goosmann from Indian Wells

“To be honest, I’ve never been late in practice in my whole life, I have no idea where it’s coming from,”said Zverev at the ATP Media Day in Indian Wells on Wednesday, when the separation of ex-coach Juan Carlos Ferrero was discussed once again.

Or when my team says:”We’ll have dinner at 8:00, then I’ll be there at 8:10 or 8:15, so if it doesn’t matter whether you’re on time or not.”

The relationship with Ferrero had been good as long as it lasted and he was satisfied with the work. Now it’s time to move on,”I won’t say anything bad about him,” Zverev explained,”and if he wants to say something bad about me, it’s his choice.

After his departure from the former Spanish world number one, Zverev had said that Ferrero had been disrespectful to his team in Australia. Ferrero countered that Zverev was always late for training and needed more discipline.

I played well in Acapulco until I hurt my knee,”he said. But the knee was better and he was ready for Indian Wells. Here Zverev will play Mikhail Youzhny or Joao Sousa after a walk-through.

In the doubles he will also compete with his brother Mischa, but the two of them face a big challenge against Bob and Mike Bryan.
