MercedesCup: Mischa Zverev makes duel against Federer clear

Mischa Zverev won his opening match at Weissenhof in Stuttgart against Mikhail Youzhny. Zverev won 7:6 (5), 6:3.

Zverev will play top seeded Roger Federer in the round of 16 on Wednesday. The game is scheduled to take place in the afternoon around 3 p.m., it was announced on site during the Federer press conference.

Federer is leading 3-0 on grass and Federer and Zverev last met in Wimbledon last year, where the later tournament winner won in three sets. In the balance also stands a 6:0, 6:0 for Federer at the tournament in Halle in 2013.

“Both like to play on grass, that’s the most important thing as a player. Then you think more is possible. Both will also have a game in their legs, I come from a cold start and have to play well quickly,” said Federer looking forward to his first appearance on Monday.

Last year’s duel between Federer and Zverev was almost over, but Federer lost his opening match against Tommy Haas. Zverev finished in the semi-final against Feliciano Lopez.
