Dayana Yastremska has won the WTA tournament in Hong Kong. The Ukrainian defeated the local favourite Qiang Wang in two sets.

In the end, the air was out for Qiang Wang: The Chinese had first beaten the number one, Elina Svitolina, on her way to the final of the WTA tournament in Hong Kong, then the two-time Grand Slam winner Garbine Muguruza in the semi-finals. But in the final there was nothing for Wang to get: Dayana Yastremska won after 65 minutes playing time with 6:2 and 6:1.

The Ukrainian defeated the second Chinese player en suite, Yastremska had already been successful in the semi-finals against Zhang Shuai. For her victory in Hong Kong, the 18-year-old took 280 points for the WTA World Ranking in addition to prize money of 163,265 US dollars.
