Clijsters still without a win at Comeback

Former world number one Kim Clijsters also loses her second game after her comeback. Against the British Johanna Konta she clearly loses in two sets.

Former world number one Kim Clijsters (Belgium) will have to wait for her second comeback for her first success.

In the second match after her return to the WTA Tour, the 36-year-old had to concede defeat to the number two seeded British player Johanna Konta in her first round match at the tournament in Monterrey, Mexico, despite a good performance 3-6, 7-5.

In mid-February, the winner of four Grand Slam tournaments in Dubai had already lost her first match after a break of almost eight years.

Clijsters resigns after pregnancy – and then returns
Clijsters had started her third career in Dubai.

The daughter of former Belgian national football player Leo Clijsters had retired for the first time in 2007 due to her pregnancy and seemed to have finally ended her professional career in 2012 after a successful comeback with two US Open triumphs and a victory at the Australian Open.

Clijsters celebrated a total of 41 tournament wins.
