ATP: Dimitrov challenges Nadal in Beijing semi-final

Grigor Dimitrov and Rafael Nadal are the first two semi-finalists of the ATP World Tour 500 tournament in Beijing.The Bulgarian has just celebrated its only victory against the world’s number one player last year.

Rafael Nadal remains flawless against John Isner: The world number one in the quarter-finals of the ATP World Tour 500 tournament in Beijing defeated the American 6:4 and 7:6 (0) and in the semi-finals met Grigor Dimitrov, who defeated Roberto Bautista Agut in three sets.

Nadal holds against Isner with a 7-0 record in official matches on the ATP tour, but he had to admit defeat at the Laver Cup in Prague.Against Dimitrov, the Vergliech looks only slightly worse, Nadal leads with 8:1.The only defeat, however, was in Beijing a year ago, in the quarter-finals.At the beginning of the year, Nadal and Dimitrov celebrated a dramatic five-set win in the preliminary round of the Australian Open.

While Nadal has long since secured his place in the tour finale in London, Dimitrov could take the next step there with a good result in the Chinese capital.The biggest success of the Bulgarians took place only a few weeks ago in Cincinnati, where Dimitrov won his first ATP Masters 1000 title by beating Nick Kyrgios in the final.
