In Luxembourg Angelique Kerber wants to fix her start at the WTA Elite Trophy in Zhuhai.

Kerber is in the main field with a wildcard – and is top seeded.The biggest competition in Luxembourg: Kiki Bertens, Anett Contacts and Sorana Cirstea.Olympic champion Monica Puig is waiting in round one for Angie to defeat her side in the Rio Final, but she has won the other three games, as in Dubai this spring.In Kerber’s half: Sabine Lisicki (starting against Mihaela Buzarnescu) and the six seeded Tatjana Maria (playing against a qualifier).Carina Witthöft (against Varvara Lepchenko) and Andrea Petkovic (against Petra Martic) are also competing.

For Angie Kerber, it’s about getting her 18th birthday.The first place in the Porsche Race to Singapore will be secured for the start at the Elite Trophy in Zhuhai from 30.October to 5.November.Twelve players are at the start, the eleven players eligible for the competition on 25.The first two women are ranked 9th to 19th in the rankings on October 20 – plus either number 20 or a participant with a wildcard.

Kerber’s biggest rivals this week are in Moscow: Magdalena Rybarikova (currently 21), Daria Gavrilova (22), Daria Kasatkina (26) and Julia Görges (28).
