ATP-Challenger/ITF-Round-up: Final defeats for Lottner and Maden, victory for Friedsam

Antonia Lottner and Yannick Maden missed out on a tournament victory at the weekend – but the best career ranking for Maggots comes out in the end.

Lottner was defeated by local heroine Pauline Parmentier in the 125k 125k series WTA finals in Limoges/France with 4:6,2:6. For the unseeded 21-year-old from the Porsche Talent Team Germany, the tournament week was nevertheless a complete success: Lottner will improve by just under 50 places in the new world ranking and move up to 156th place – and thus come close to their top ranking of 139th place again.

At the ATP-Challenger in Mouilleron-le-Captif (85,000 Euro) mixed results from a German point of view gave on the final day. Yannick Maden, who had scored victories against Peter Gojowczyk and Luca Vanni in the singles final, lost to the young Swede Elias Ymer 5:7,4:6. However, on Monday Maden is celebrating his best ranking position with 148th place.

Andre Begemann won in the doubles: At Jonathan Eysseric’s side he won against Tomasz Bednarek/David Pel 6:3,6:4.

Anna-Lena Friedsam is also feeling better again. The 23-year-old, who had been injured for a long time, won the final of the US$25,000 ITF against top seeded Dutch Lesley Kerkhove with a score of 6:4,6:2. In the semi-final, she had beaten Kathinka von Deichmann from Liechtenstein, who was quoted on three occasions, 3:6,6:2,7:5.

In Heraklion/Greece (US$15,000) the top-seeded Laura Schäder and Tayisiya Morderger missed the final. Schäder was defeated by Irina Ramialsion, who later won the tournament, 3-6,6-4,4-6, and Moderger lost to Ylena In-Albon 4-6,2-6.

Julia Wachaczyk made it to the final of Sharm El Sheikh/Egypt, but she was defeated by the Italian Lucia Bronzetti 1:6,2:6. In the doubles, however, things went better: Here she won against Paulina Czarnik/Dan Ni Wang 6:3,7:5 alongside Romy Kölzer.

In doubles at the ITF tournament in Niceville/USA, Julian Lenz beat Boris Arias/Nick Chappell 7-5,4-6,[10-7] alongside Juan Manuel Benitez.

Also victorious: Lisa Ponomar – she won the title with 6:4,7:6 (7) against Anastasia Grymalska/Giorgia Marchetti at the 15,000cc in Hammamet/Tunisia alongside Tamara Curovic.
