Fed Cup: DTB: Porsche remains Premium Partner for another three years

The German Tennis Association (DTB) and Porsche AG have extended their premium partnership. The world’s largest tennis association and the automobile manufacturer from Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen agreed to continue the cooperation for another three years until 2020. The DTB announced this on Thursday.

The collaboration, which primarily involves supporting the Porsche Team Germany in the Fed Cup and the young female players in the Porsche Talent Team, began in 2012.

“In addition to its commitment to our Fed Cup players, Porsche AG’s many years of support paves the way for the best female DTB talented youngsters to the professional tour,” said Hans-Wolfgang Kende, DTB Vice President Legal Affairs and Marketing:”This sponsorship makes a decisive contribution to establishing German women’s tennis at the top of the world on a long-term basis.

Oliver Eidam, Head of Brand Partnerships & Sponsoring at Porsche AG, commented:”In the course of our successful cooperation so far, German women’s tennis has reached a new level. After 22 years, the Porsche Team Germany was back in the Fed Cup final, and Angelique Kerber became the number one in the world.”

Carina Witthöft is an example of the successful promotion of top talent. The 22-year-old from Hamburg was one of the first players in the newly founded Porsche Talent Team five years ago. Witthöft is now on the verge of jumping into the top 50, making his debut in April in the Fed Cup team and winning her first WTA Tour title in Luxembourg at the end of October.
