Tennis: March 2018: The first tennis match in space!

Tennis on Earth is no longer enough and will take place in March 2018 for the first time in space. The American astronaut A is the main contributor to this development. J. Fire by.

The 9. March 2018 will be a historic day. At least for all tennis lovers and especially for an astronaut.

NASA pilot Andrew Jay Feustel will contest the first tennis match in space. Yeah, in space. The 52-year-old will be flying his third space flight next year, and he will not do without his great passion: playing tennis. As an on-board engineer of the space ship Soyuz MS-08, the American will leave with two more astronauts on expedition 55 and leave the Earth for space as a Commander-in-Chief of mission 56. Feustel will carry two small tennis rackets and balls.

Together with his American colleague Richard Arnold and the Russian cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev, Feustel will then try to play the first tennis match of history in the exosphere. The astronaut came up with the idea earlier, but now he finally wants to implement it.

The member of the American tennis federation USTA came to tennis through his wife:”Tennis is a great love of mine, actually I only have it because of my love. Tennis came into my life later – only when I met my wife,”explained Feustel at a conference call of the USTA. My wife comes from a tennis family and her fascination and the experience with tennis has been transferred to me,”added the 52-year-old.

A return to Earth is planned for August. If the event really takes place, you will surely get breathtaking pictures.
