Tennis: No charge against Venus Williams

Five-time Wimbledon winner Venus Williams is not charged with participating in a car accident resulting in her death. This report U. S. media, citing statements by the police in Florida.

Surveillance videos showed how the 37-year-old woman drove properly at a green light onto the intersection to cross it straight ahead northwards. As an oncoming vehicle turned off in front of her, the American had to brake her car at the crossroads.

When she then continued her journey in accordance with the traffic regulations, the traffic lights had already changed. At that time, 68-year-old Linda Barson drove her car westbound and collided with Williams’ car.

Her husband Jerome (78) died two weeks later from serious head injuries suffered in the accident. The victim’s family has filed a lawsuit against Williams for negligent killing.

Venus Williams was heartbroken after the accident:”I am devastated and heartbroken after this accident. My condolences go out to the family and friends of Jerome Barson. I keep them in my thoughts and prayers,”Williams wrote on Facebook at the time.
