Service: Australian Open: The odds of the German ladies presented by LeoVegas

Down Under starts the first Grand Slam of the year! LeoVegas presents the odds for the German ladies at the Australian Open with Angelique Kerber,”Jule” Görges and Co.

“Angie” is in great shape at the beginning of the season! Already at the fun tournament in Perth she showed her number-one form from 2016. The change of coach seems to have had a positive influence: Wim Fissette apparently pushes the right buttons on the keeler and helped her in the preparation for more self-confidence in her skills. At Alexander Zverev’s side, the 29-year-old won the Hopman Cup in all three games and led Team Germany to the final – where she also remained victorious.

At the first real test in Sydney, the fighter’s nature confirmed its form and once again underlined its chances of a successful tournament in Melbourne. Venus Williams, Lucie Safarova or Dominika Cibulkova were able to win Kerber on their way to the 11th World Championships. WTA title in Sydney will not stop. All of them are seasoned and established top players – but Kerber was simply too strong.

The impact is improved, the forehand sets the desired needle stitches and the backhand cross becomes a showpiece for tricky situations. And then there is the winner’s fist, who always signals her regained self-conception for her game.

In the purely German duel against Anna-Lena Friedsam, Kerber faces a feasible first-round opponent. If it should keep its shape and feel comfortable on familiar terrain, there’s plenty for the current number 16 in the world. By the way:”Angie’s” new nickname “Kerbinator” fits right now like a fist on the eye!

At LeoVegas, Kerber’s chances of winning the Happy Slam title stand at 10.0, making him one of the favourites on the big coup.

Will it soon be “Us Jule” instead of “Us Uwe”? Julia Görges is well on the way to further developing her best career so far. Prior to the Start Down Under tournament, Bad Oldesloerin won 14 (!) games in a row and collected three consecutive titles across the years. In Moscow, Zhuhai and just in Auckland, Görges swept her opponents away from the pitch. Away from the service, the 29-year-old dominated the points and was able to rely on her powerful ground strokes.

The reward for this: Ranked 12th in the ranking, she celebrates her personal career high and catapulted herself to number one among German women. And with what? Rightly so.

Not only the three tournament victories are encouraging for the big coup – the underground also plays an important role. The winning streak keeps Görges on hard court; the same surface on which the matches in Melbourne are played. With Happy Slam, their quick basic strokes come out particularly well and “Jule” can dictate the matches themselves and set the pace. The start into the tournament shouldn’t be too much of a problem either. The 19-year-old American Sofia Kenin in Görges’ form is no danger to the Germans.

Should it be enough for the first Grand Slam triumph for Görges, LeoVegas offers a odds of 21.0.

Andrea Petkovic: 701.0

Carina Witthöft: 901,0

Mona Barthel: 1001.0

Anna-Lena Friedsam: 1001.0

Tatjana Maria: 1501,0
