ATP: Tomic shows little stamina: Scandalous”Aussie” leaves the jungle show
Scandal Australian Bernard Tomic escaped in the jungle after his messed-up start, but his stay on the TV show was not a success story.
It wasn’t meant to be. Bernard Tomic will no longer participate in the Australian version of the jungle camp. The Australian went into the jungle to escape the tennis whirlwind that hit the 25-year-old in recent weeks. But the time-out didn’t last long: After only a few days Tomic said the famous words “I’m a star, get me out of here” and started the journey home.
In an interview after his jungle out, Tomic promised that he now wants to return to the training ground and work hard on his form. Recently there was harsh criticism of the attitude of the former prodigy and Tomic caused one sporting sensation after another. After qualifying for the Australian Open, he said,”I’m going to go and count my millions.”
In front of his jungle colleagues he said:”Last year I didn’t train much and wasted a lot of time being a professional, it was great to meet you and it will be with me for a lifetime. Now I’m going to focus on my career again, I’m going to try to play more and compete with others and do what I do best.”
The Australian Davis Cup team led by Captain Lleyton Hewitt has also distanced itself from the 25-year-old.
