ATP-Challenger/ITF-Tour-Round-up: Nishikori with victory, Altmaier with first final
Kei Nishikori celebrated his first success on the way to his comeback, Daniel Altmaier also played a strong week.
Nishikori won the final of the ATP Challenger of Dallas (125,000 US dollars) 6-1,6-4 against the youngster Mackenzie McDonald. During the week, Nishikori won against Matthias Bachinger and Dominik Köpfer, among others. A week ago, the former world number four had lost his opening game in Newport Beach.
Daniel Altmaier had to admit defeat at the Challenger in Bernie (US$75,000) only old master Stephane Robert. Altmaier had taken Christian Harrison and Jason Kuebler out of the race on their way to the final. In the final the experienced Robert was too strong and won 6:1,6:2.
Marvin Möller reached the future final in Kaarst (15,000 US dollars). However, the 19-year-old narrowly missed his second ITF single title: he lost 2-6,6-7 (2) against Igor Sijsling in the final.
Pascal Meis made it to the semi-finals in Paguera/Spain (USD 15,000). He lost to Javier Barranco Cosano in three sets.
In Glasgow/Great Britain (15,000 US dollars) Austrian Matthias Haim and Jakob Sude beat local heroes Neil Pauffley/Marcus Willis 6-3,6-7 (5),[10-6] in the final.
