From 7. until 10.2. is the capital of Estonia and hosts this year’s Fed Cup tournament against Poland, Turkey and Latvia. The aim is to maintain class retention in the Europe/Africa zone, Group 1.

From Wednesday, as in the previous year, Tallinn will be the venue for the Fed Cup European/African Zone Tournament, Group 1, while Austria, Poland, Turkey and Latvia were drawn into the difficult Group D with Poland, Turkey and Latvia.

The last in each group must play against relegation to the Europe/Africa zone, Group 2. Two teams descend. The third-place finishers in the groups of four do not play any placing games. Last year, the ÖTV team finished the tournament in fifth place thanks to three single points from Barbara Haas.

Fed Cup captain Jürgen Waber was nominated this time alongside Haas Julia Grabher, Pia König and Melanie Klaffner. The declared goal is called class preservation.

The Austrians lost 2-1 to Poland last year in Tallinn, and Barbara Haas’ (WTA-170) win over Magda Linette (WTA-60) will give them the courage to face each other again. On the second day of the game, you can count on the best chances against the Turkish women, who are closest to our rankings. Against Latvia – Ostapenko is number 6 in the world, Sevastova 15th, there will be nothing to win.
