WTA: Görges cancels start in Dubai due to hip injury

One day after her injury-related abandonment in the quarter-finals of the WTA tournament in Doha, Julia Görges (Bad Oldesloe) canceled her start at the upcoming event in Dubai.

“Unfortunately, due to my hip injury here in Doha, I am not able to compete in Dubai next week,”twittered the world’s longing for rankings on Saturday morning.

Görges announced that he would fly home on Saturday and then do everything he could to get Indian Wells fit again. The tournament in California starts on the 7th. March. In Doha she had to give up on Friday in the round of the last eight against Czech Petra Kvitova.
