ATP: No worries about Stan Wawrinka
After Stan Wawrinka’s resignation in Marseille, many fans were worried about his operated knee. All normal, but Stan the Man sounded all-clear.
Stan Wawrinka’s in-form play is still not going well. After his relegation to the semi-finals in Melbourne, the two-time Majority winner made it to the semi-finals in Sofia, but in Rotterdam he lost directly against the unknown Tallon Griekspoor.
And also in Marseille things didn’t go well, Wawrinka gave up in the first match against Ilya Ivashka at the score of 4:6,1:1.
I played a forehand volley at 3-3 and there was a slight contact with the knee,”he told the L’ Équipe. The days before, the training went well, I played three good training sets, on a good level. But matches are always different because of the tension and nerves, because you want to do it well and often hesitate.”
My team thought that these are normal pains, unfortunately and fortunately,”he went on to say,” I have to take the positive things from every day, from my tennis, my physical condition, my movement. And must continue to work – it’s as simple as that.”
