ATP Challenger/Future: Round-up: Peya/Petzschner triumph in Irving

Alexander Peya won the high-class double tournament at the ATP-Challenger-Event in Irving (USA) at the side of the German Philipp Petzschner. On future level, Melanie Klaffner just missed the double title in Hammamet (Tunisia).

Peya/Petzschner won the final 6:2, 6:4 against Radu Albot and Matthew Ebden. In the first round of the $150,000 hard court tournament, the unseeded duo had already eliminated former world number one Henri Kontinen and his Australian doubles partner John Peers.

For the 37-year-old Rountinier from Vienna, it was the 28 double title in a Challenger tournament.

Melanie Klaffner has just lost the final at the ITF sand court tournament in Hammamet/Tunisia (15,000 US Dollar). At the side of her Romanian doubles partner Oana Georgeta Simion she lost to Oana Gavrila/Laura Pigossi 5:7, 7:6 (6),[9:11].

Maximilian Neuchrist in Quinta Do Lago/Portugal and Dennis Novak in Antalya/Turkey (both 15,000 US dollars) reached semi-finals at future level in the singles.

David Pichler also made it into the semifinals at the hard court tournament in Portugal – but in doubles. In Sharm El Sheikh/Egypt (15,000 US dollars) Caroline Ilowska and Jacqueline Cabaj Awad from Sweden were also eliminated in the semifinal round.
