WTA: Kvitova wins home game in Prague

The two-time Wimbledon winner Petra Kvitova from the Czech Republic has won her home tournament in Prague for the first time.
The world ranking tenth won the final of the 250,000 dollar WTA event on Saturday with 4:6, 6:2, 6:3 against Romania Mihaela Buzarnescu and thus became Mona Barthel’s successor. Last year’s winner from Neumünster had already failed in the first round.
Kvitova won her third title of the current season under the eyes of Czech-American tennis icon Martina Navratilova. Previously, the 28-year-old had won in St. Petersburg and Doha. Last time Kvitova failed in the second round in Stuttgart due to Angelique Kerber, who had not given her a chance in the Fed Cup duel before.
