ATP Madrid: Double: Alexander Peya wins thriller, Jan-Lennard Struff loses
At the ATP Masters 1000 event in Madrid Alexander Peya and his partner Nikola Mektic reached the semi-finals. Jan-Lennard Struff lost significantly at Ben McLachlan’s side.
Alexander Peya’s journey continues. In a double thriller, the Austrian booked the ticket to the semi-finals with his partner Mektic. Peya/Mektiv lost the first round 6:7 (4) against the strong double Michael Venus and Raven Klaasen.
In the second set, Peya and Mektic fought back and equalled out 6:3 in the sets. The match tiebreak was very close. With 10:8 Peya and Mektic were the lucky winners in the end.

Jan-Lennard Struff, who clearly had to admit defeat to the top two Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert from France at Ben McLachlan’s side, was not so successful. In a clear 6:2 and 6:3 for the French there was nothing to win for Struff/McLachlan.
