The ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Rome has again increased the prize money this year. For example, the winner will receive almost 120,000 euros more in this year’s issue.

Stagnation is regression. In keeping with this motto, the organizers of the Masters Tournament in Rome have once again decided to increase their prize money this year.

This year’s winner in particular can look forward to an impressive sum more. The Rome Champion will receive almost 120,000 euros more in the 2018 issue.

Last year, tournament winner Zverev received a cheque for 820,000 euros – this year it is 935,385 euros for the champion.

But the payout has also increased in the previous rounds and the players behind the big favourites benefit from the increased prize money.

For the first-round performance, the Rome officials pay 17,350 euros to the respective player – as in the case of comebacker Stan Wawrinka, who had to pack his bags in the first round. Philipp Kohlschreiber was already more fortunate. By beating Karen Khachanov in the opening round, the man from Augsburg is sure to reach the second round with at least 32,135 euros. The third round already exceeds the 50,000 mark with prize money of 60,945 euros.

From the quarter-finals on, it will be six figures: 117,375 euros await the players in the top eight of the tournament in the Italian capital. In the semi-finals 230,830 Euro will be paid out per player. 458,640 euros should be at least a small consolation for the losing player in the final.
