ATP: The next comeback – Lleyton Hewitt returns to Queen´s Club

Lleyton Hewitt is back. Once again. The Australian will compete in the ATP World Tour 500 tournament at London’s Queen´s Club.

Austrian tennis fans will also take a close look: Lleyton Hewitt is making another comeback, this time at London’s Queen´s Club alongside Nick Kyrgios. And it is with him that the Australian Davis Cup captain could aim to remain in the World Group from 14 to 16 September in Graz.

For the time being, however, the appearance at the renowned preparation tournament on Wimbledon, which is also an event in the ATP World Tour 500 category. Lleyton Hewitt has only the best memories of: Between 2000 and 2003 he did not lose a single match at Queen´s Club, during which time he won four titles.

“This tournament will always have a very special place in my heart,” Hewitt explained. “The memory of me beating Pete Sampras here as a teenager in the finale is as alive today as ever.” The lawn is always in perfect condition, and the organisers are also making great efforts to look after the players.

“I still love competition, I can still play a little tennis. “And the chance to try another Australian gives me real pleasure.” However, the performance in London cannot be considered a Davis Cup dress rehearsal: Finally, sand will be applied in Graz.
