Defending champion Rafael Nadal must continue his match against Simone Bolelli, which was interrupted on Monday. Juan Martin del Potro and Marin Cilic will also start into the tournament, while Mischa Zverev and Florian Mayer will face off in their first German-German duel.

With Angelique Kerber (12) and Julia Görges (11) the two currently best German tennis players enter the tournament. Kerber meets countrywoman Mona Barthel.
