French Open: “I love your dialect”: Alexander Zverev has fun with Yorkshire reporter

After his contested first round victory Alexander Zverev was in a good mood at the press conference – mainly due to a certain reporter

A British radio reporter asked the hamburger the usual question about his problems at major tournaments – but Zverev didn’t get involved this time. “Where are you from, buddy?” he asked – after that a wonderful dialogue about the Yorkshire man’s dialect relaxed. “When I play a tournament at your place, I only come for the dialect. I love him,” Zverev laughs. “I didn’t understand a word you said. But that’s not important.”

Zverev obviously enjoyed his tennis, the man continued, “not as much as with your dialect,” Zverev returned and grinned.

About the turning point in Roland Garros? “Sure. Why not? Because you said it so nicely, I’m going to believe it.”

Should Zverev reach the final, the colleague can look forward to a quasi-exclusive interview. “I’ll definitely make sure you can ask several questions,” promised Zverev.
