WTA: Sabine Lisicki plans comeback in Wimbledon

Return on her favourite surface: Sabine Lisicki wants to come back on the Holy Lawn of Wimbledon – but she first has to win three matches in Roehampton.

Lisicki is on the official entry list for the qualification of the most famous tournament in the world. However, this takes place in the Roehampton suburb – Lisicki must win three times to return to the place of her greatest success. In 2013, after victories over Serena Williams and Agnieszka Radwanska, she reached the final in Wimbledon, where she lost unexpectedly to Marion Bartoli.

Recently, Lisicki was often thrown back by injuries, including leg and shoulder. She underwent knee surgery at the end of last year, most recently at the WTA tournament in Miami in March this year, where she was stopped by a foot injury. It currently ranks only 159th in the world rankings.

Last week Lisicki was already a training guest at the Weissenhof in Stuttgart, on Saturday she trained here next to Roger Federer.
