ATP: Eastbourne: Mischa Zverev at Wimbledon dress rehearsal in round of 16

Mischa Zverev (Hamburg) avoided his eleventh first round finish this year at the ATP grass court tournament in Eastbourne.

The 30-year-old won his opening match against Chilean Nicolas Jarry after 1:27 hours despite starting difficulties 3:6, 6:1, 6:4 at the Wimbledon dress rehearsal endowed with 721.085 Euro. Mischa Zverev was above all effective with regard to break chances: The left-hander used five of six, but also gave up his service three times.

In the round of sixteen the world ranking 67th now has to deal with number seven seeded American Steve Johnson. In the evening qualifier Daniel Brands (Deggendorf) will play his first round match against the British local hero Cameron Norrie.
